WorldStage Newsonline– The State Project Implementation Unit, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has trained Extension Agents on profiling data of livestock farmers in the State.
Addressing the trainees at Ikole-Ekiti, the Program Manager, Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), Alhaji Oladele Yakubu called for synergy between Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government to ensure smooth working relations during the programme, emphasizing that L-PRES Project offered training opportunities to empower them in their professional career.
Earlier, the State Project Coordinator, Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES), Mr. Olayinka Adedipe had highlighted the basic foundation of L-PRES Project to the trainees.
Adedipe emphasized that the Project Development Objective (PDO) was aimed at improving livestock productivity, resilience and commercialization of selected value chains and to strengthen the state’s capacity to respond to crisis or an emergency.
The Extension Specialist L-PRES, Mr. Olubunmi Ajayi later gave an insight into the profiling of Livestock Farmers in the State.
Mrs. Ajayi said that the programme would among other things provide a comprehensive step-by-step guide to optimizing farmers’ performance on the data on service providers.
In their responses, Mrs. Ola-Falayi and Mr. Bayo Ojo who spoke on behalf of the participants stated that the training had enlightened and broadened their knowledge on livestock sub-sector value chain.
They urged the State Implementation Unit of L-PRES to hold follow-up training exercises in order to overcome any challenge that could arise when they get to the field.
