WorldStage– A fresh twist has emerged in Ijebu-Ode as the Bubiade Royal Dynasty publicly distanced itself from Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose, declaring that he has no known ties to their lineage.
In a letter dated December 10, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, the Olori Ebi of the Bubiade Royal Family, Alhaji O.B. Yusuf, stated unequivocally that he has never met Anifowose, nor signed any document recognising him as a member of the royal family.
“I want the general public to know that we don’t have any Anifowose from our family,” the Olori Ebi wrote.
According to the statement, the royal house had been expecting Anifowose to present documents proving his lineage, but he has failed to show up.
The family head explained that he was compelled to issue the disclaimer following widespread rumours suggesting he had endorsed Anifowose’s membership form.
“As the head of the family unit, I think it is necessary to release this information because of the rumours going round the town that I… did sign Otunba Wasiu Ayinde Anifowose’s family membership form,” he clarified.
The Bubiade Royal Dynasty added that the public will be updated as events continue to unfold.
