WorldStage– The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned the public against fraudulent recruitment scams for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), reiterating that the entire application process is free of charge.
The commission on Saturday, April 25, 2026 warned the public to ignore fraudulent schemes, “job racketeering,” or any demands for financial payment for enlistment.
The PSC warned that circulating messages about ongoing recruitment for 2025/2026 are fake, and that the public should rely only on official announcements.
It also advised against dealing with scammers, including fraudulent agents and cyber cafes requesting payments, sometimes over ₦30,000
The Commission disclosed that the Police Constable (General Duty and Specialist) recruitment is now in the examination phase, scheduled for April 28 to April 30, 2026, for successful candidates from the physical/credentials screening.
It added that eligible applicants must print their examination invitation cards from the official recruitment portal to confirm their specific venue in the 36 states/FCT Police Service Commission.
The Commission further stated that candidates must bring a pen, NIN slip, and their printed Examination Invitation Card and should dress in plain white T-shirt, shorts, and canvas shoes. The PSC warned that anyone engaging in extortion will be prosecuted and urged the public to report fraudulent demands for payment to the nearest police station or via SMS/WhatsApp to 07054992071.
