WorldStage– Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor resigned his membership of the party along with 23 members of the State House of Assembly.
The governor’s spokesperson, Daniel Alabara, confirmed the resignation on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Diri will be pitching his tent with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The confirmation has ended months of speculations over the sensitive issue of the governor’s defection to the ruling APC.
