WorldStage– Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the Oluremi @65 Education Fund and asked well-wishers to channel contributions toward completing the long-stalled National Library of Nigeria headquarters in Abuja instead of giving personal gifts.
The First Lady turned 65 on September 21, 2025.
Coordinated by the Federal Ministry of Education in partnership with Zenith Bank, the fund exemplifies her commitment to education and youth development.
As of September 23, 2025, the fund has raised an impressive ₦20,456,188,924.93, showcasing nationwide support for this transformative initiative. Contributions from individuals, organizations, and civic groups highlight the power of collective action in advancing national knowledge infrastructure.
The National Library project, initiated in 2006, has faced decades of delays despite prior federal allocations.
The Oluremi @65 Education Fund now provides critical momentum toward its completion, promising enhanced literacy, research, and digital access for Nigerians.
Supporters have praised the initiative as selfless and visionary, while constructive discussions emphasize transparency and sustained government involvement.
Citizens interested in contributing are urged to access details via the Federal Ministry of Education or Zenith Bank’s dedicated account.
