WorldStage Newsonline– The Federal Government of Nigeria has expressed commitment to delivering transformative projects aimed at boosting infrastructure, health, agriculture and socio-economic growth across the South-East.
Mrs Lauretta Bakare, Head of the Federal Information Centre, Ebonyi, who stated this on Wednesday in Abakaliki at a Public Enlightenment Programme on Federal Government Projects in the South-East geo-political zone listed some of the projects of the present administration within its two years of governance to include the ultra-modern Cancer Screening Centre (CSC) at David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences, Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi.
The sensitisation programme with the theme, “Tinubu Administration’s Mid-Term Report” is an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation aimed to showcase the mid-term achievements of the present administration.
She also listed the construction of the 118.8km coastal highway linking Calabar through Ebonyi, Benue and Nasarawa to Abuja; the cassava-to-bioethanol project in Enugu State and the 100-bed Mother and Child Care Centre in Imo State.
She explained that the projects were part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to provide social amenities and improve the lives of Nigerians.
“The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris has mandated that all the transformative projects of Mr President be brought to the attention of Nigerians to enable them understand their benefits and impact,” she said.
According to her, the FG had invested heavily in projects designed to touch all segments of society and foster inclusive growth.
Bakare urged the citizens to support the implementation of government’s policies and programmes to ensure they succeed and serve as a model for other African nations seeking accelerated development.
She commended the Executive Chairman of Abakaliki LGA, Chief Stephen Nwogba, for honouring the invitation to attend the event in spite the short notice.
