Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in a London clinic at the age of 82.
His spokesman, Garba Shehu, confirmed the news, stating that the family requests prayers for his soul in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Earlier reports confirmed that Buhari was ill and receiving medical treatment in London.
This was initially hinted at in July 2025, with sources suggesting he was hospitalized after falling sick during a medical trip.
Vice President Kashim Shettima reportedly visited Buhari in London while he was receiving treatment.
