WorldStage– The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede has bagged an Award of Excellence in service.
The honour was bestowed on him at the Great Achievers Awards, organized by the Great Achievers Initiative for Youth and Community Development, GAIYD in Abuja.
According to the organizers, the award acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to society. The convener, Dr. Hilary Akpua in his remarks, stated that the Great Achievers Summit and Awards not only honoured the accomplishments of exceptional individuals but also inspired others to pursue their passion and responsibilities with diligence as they strive for greatness in their fields.
“This award aims to spotlight those whose works have had a meaningful impact on their communities and the world at large. The award serves two purposes: honouring excellence and promoting positive role models for future generations,” he said.
The theme of this year’s award, “Reorientation of the Male Child Mentorship in Africa” focuses on the male child formal and non-formal education.
According to Akpua “Since inception we have been committed to promoting boy child inclusivity and empowering tomorrow’s leaders, one boy at a time,”
Receiving the award on behalf of Olukoyede, Head, Enlightenment and Reorientation of the Commission, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE II Aisha Mohammed thanked the organizers for recognizing the efforts of the Commission and for finding the EFCC chairman worthy of the recognition given to him.
“The boy child has to be strong on ethics. Lack of guidance and negligence from families towards the boy child account for the rising cases of cybercrimes. In the EFCC, we don’t just arrest but we take time to rehabilitate and reorient them on the dangers of cybercrime. The Executive Chairman is 100 percent in support of what you do and we will give you the necessary support you need,” she said.
