WorldStage Newsonline– The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), has pledged to enforce all instruments against human trafficking.
According to a statement issued by Mr Vincent Adekoye, the agency’s Communication Officer in Abuja on Thursday, Ms Binta Lami Adamu Bello, the new Director-General of NAPTIP equally promised to run an open door policy when she assumed office on Wednesday.

in a statement release by his media aid, Mr Ajuri Ngilale, on Aug. 6.The new NAPTIP boss took over from Prof. Fatima Waziri–Azi.
Bello, who also pledged to tackle incidences of human trafficking in the country, in line with the renewed hope agenda of the president, stressed the need for more efforts to strengthen officers of the agency.
She also stressed the need to motivate officers of the agency to work hard to justify the confidence reposed in NAPTIP.
She said “I am ready for enforcement. We shall not by the grace of God, disappoint Mr President who has directed me to come and continue from where others stopped.
“Everyone of you will be carried along and you should be ready to work so that we can reach our target. I will look at the administrative setting here and give each of you a target per month and you will be evaluated on that basis.
“ We must work very hard to make sure that we are within the vision and mission of this agency. Anything short of that, we are a failure.”
In his response, Mr Josiah Emerole, the NAPTIP Director, Research and Programme Development, congratulated the new D-G for the appointment and expressed confidence in her.
Emerole said he is optimistic that she would take the agency to a higher level of accomplishment.
The director informed the new D-G that the agency consists of trained professionals and loyal officers, while assuring her of unflinching support of the entire workforce.
The highpoint of the meeting was the official handover of some vital institutional documents and policies to the NAPTIP boss.
The new NAPTIP boss had previously served as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Health and Aviation.
She had also worked as a director at the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP), Ministry of Finance, among others.
