*Tinubu condoles with National Assembly over passing of lawmaker
WorldStage Newsonline– Nigeria’s House of Representatives has yet been hit by death of another member, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams.
This is coming few days after the sudden demise of Hon Adewale Akinremi, popular called Jagaban, from Oyo State.
Until his death on Tuesday morning after a brief illness, Adams was chairman, House Committee on Sports, and representing Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency of Kaduna State in the House of Representatives.
Adams’ close friend, Mr Mike Obasi, confirmed the death to our reporter via a WhatsApp message.
Hon. Adams, a former general manager of Kada City FC and Remo Stars, was elected into the House of Representatives on the platform of Labour Party (LP) in 2023. With his sports background as a former athlete and administrator, he was appointed the Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Sports, the position he occupied until his death on Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024.
Menawhile, President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the National Assembly and the Kaduna State Government over the passing of Hon Adams.
The President also extended his condolences to the family and friends of the late lawmaker, urging them to find solace in the Almighty and in the legacy of the deceased.
President Tinubu prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed lawmaker and strength to his family.
