The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 46 postgraduate programmes in Federal University, Kashere (FUK), Gombe State.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Alhassan Gani, who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Kashere, said plans were also on to commence remedial and diploma programmes in the institution.
Gani said that this would afford more students the opportunity of undergoing postgraduate and diploma programmes in addition in addition to boosting the institution’s revenue.
According to him, the university is currently running 34 degree programmes 32 of which have been fully accredited.
He identified funding as the major challenge facing the university, but commended the Federal Government, TETFund and other organisations for their contributions towards the development of the institution.
He said that a lot of projects had been executed in the institution to enhance teaching and learning.
