WorldStage– The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has described as an afterthought claim by media aide of the former Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, that he was not invited for interrogation by the Commission before being declared wanted.
Dismissing the claim, Mr. Dele Oyewale, the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity said the former Minister has been under administrative bail after he was first invited and being investigated by the Commission but that he (the Minister) has been failing to come for regular visit to the Commission which his administrative bail spelt out.
Oyewale also stated there’s no political or other ulterior motive in declaring him wanted than following pure and due investigative and prosecution process.
He advised people in doubt of the Commission’s intent, particularly the media, to always seek clarification with the Commission before pandering to public sentiment with regard to the Commission’s activities.
